Cummunity Service: Newcastle thrift store- Dates Hours 1-16-12 9am-3:30pm 1-17-12 9am-3:30pm 1-19-12 9am-3:30pm While doing cummunity service at the thrift store that is located on th frontage road by apple tree I did many tasks that they asked me to do. Some of those tasks were sorting out clothes into kids, teens, and adults and tag them. They also had me clean all the window for them. They also had me pair all the shoes they got in tag them and put them were they belong. I also had to sweep the floors, and move the bigger furniture around the store. Those are just a few of the task the thrift store had me to for my cummunity service. Hopi Trip On the hopi trip we spent a week with the hopi indians. We went there to learn about their ways of life. While being there the girls learned how to make baskets out of yukas. This was a cool but very hard process, it took us two days to complete these baskets. Another thing Sage and I did the first night was help the women of the family make these corn meal and sugar treats for their festival that they were having the next day. We scooped the mixture into corn husks and tied them up with little peices corn husks. This was very fun and they tasted great. All of the girls in our group also took turns every night helping make dinner and after dinner hep doing the dishes. Cali Trip On our trip to california we worked at a soup kitchen for two of the days we were there. This was a great experience. We helped prepare the food and serve it to the people who needed it. This was a very rewardingfeeling knowing that I helped feed people who needed it.
